Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has admitted that the worst problem the South East region is facing is bad roads.
The vice president made the remark at the weekend while answering questions from journalists at the Cathedral Church of the Good Shepherd, Anglican Communion, in Enugu.
According to The Nation, Osinbajo also pointed out the area’s dilapidated road networks as a pressing issue that needs to be addressed.
He stated that despite the government’s financial constraint at the moment, there is an urgent need tomake improvements on the roads.
Osinbajo also disclosed that he had discussed the issue with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, adding that the federal government was well aware of the situation.
”Not just only one problem that the people of the South East have in terms of roads, you know what our financial constraints are, there is a need for improvement on roads where there is a lot of commerce and movement of people,’ ‘ the vice president said.
Meanwhile, Osinbajo, has encourgaed Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in the country to contribute to the federal government’s efforts aimed at rebuilding, reconstruction, reconciliation and resettlement of victims of insurgency in the North East region.

the Northeast Humanitarian Multi-stakeholder Engagement meeting in Maiduguri, Borno state.
In another development, Osinbajo has
said the anti-graft war of the present
administration will reach all those involved in corruption cases, adding that the Buhari-led government will not spare any individual found guilty.
